all you mcu fans have got to stop it with comparing other mcu films to thor ragnarok and black panther!!!! sure i liked spiderman homecoming and guardians of the galaxy and winter soldier but they don’t hold a candle to these two films and you have just got to accept it!!!!!!!!!!!

on a more serious note the reason these two films are so exceptional is that they both had directors of color whose respective backgrounds heavily influenced the anti-colonialism themes present in both movies. of course those other films have a lot going for them as well but if you’re talking about anti-colonialist narratives then nothing else comes close to these two films.
